About
Mallikarjuna Stones Ltd is the UK export arm of Mallikarjun Stone Polishing Industries. The family owns the quarry and runs the polishing yard. There is no trading house between the working face and the container.
01 / Structure
How the business is structured
Two entities, one operation. Mallikarjun Stone Polishing Industries quarries and processes at Miriyan village in Chincholi taluk, Kalaburagi district, and has supplied Shahabad limestone across India for over thirty years. Mallikarjuna Stones Ltd is the UK company that holds the export relationship, the UK stockholding position and the commercial contract with the buyer.
The purpose of that structure is straightforward: a UK merchant contracts with a UK company under English law, and the material still comes off a face the seller owns. Technical questions reach the people running the lines rather than a broker, and pricing carries one margin rather than three.
The UK is the first export market. The intention is to extend the same direct channel to further markets once UK supply is running at steady volume.
